How is your Overly Protective® sunscreen better than other mineral Zinc sunscreens?
At Amavara®, our Overly Protective® Sunscreen features a higher concentration of Zinc Oxide (22.5%) as the only active ingredient, and it rubs in transparent while feeling silky smooth.
Some sunscreens use nano Titanium Dioxide, Octinoxate, or added oils as secondary active ingredients to help make their formula rub in clear - unfortunately these ingredients can leave you feeling greasy, pasty, or have negative effects on the environment that can cause coral bleaching in our oceans. Overly Protective® sunscreen is the first Zinc Oxide mineral sunscreen to accomplish the superior protection we want, without the negative side effects we don’t!
What should I know about Zinc Oxide?
Zinc Oxide is a natural mineral barrier to the sun’s harmful UVA and UVB rays. It is widely regarded as the most protective shield you can use to help prevent against the harmful effects of the sun. However, most Zinc Oxide sunscreens are known for their pasty, white ghosting effect on the skin. With our EarthWell® Zinc technology, you will get all the benefits of Zinc Oxide protection, while still maintaining a transparent look and soft aesthetic.
What skin types is the Overly Protective® sunscreen recommended for?
Overly Protective® Sunscreen is recommended by Dermatologists and Pediatricians. Our sunscreen is safe for all skin types, including those who have oily skin. We have also taken the time to add protective ingredients that help prevent the effects of environmental pollution, such as smog, that can cause premature aging.

Are your products vegan and cruelty free?
Our products ARE and will ALWAYS be cruelty free. We do not believe in using any animal byproducts or testing on animals in any way.

We are proud to be an American company, with our sunscreen produced, packaged and shipped right here in the USA.
Product Ingredients
Is EarthWell® Zinc nano or non-nano?
All EarthWell® Zinc products feature 100% naturally-sourced non-nano Zinc Oxide and are paraben free.
Do your products contain fragrance?
Our products are formulated with a light, fresh scent but do not contain any heavy perfumes or fragrances known to cause irritation or allergic reactions.
Are your products gluten free?
Yes, our products are gluten free! Gluten is a wheat based protein that is not included in our formulation.
What is used to create the color in Amavara's tinted sunscreen?
You won't find any harmful chemicals here! Amavara’s tinted SPF30 lotion uses a natural colorant that is derived from the caramelization of sugar. Our SPF50 lotion is pigmented with minerals.
Are there preservatives and parabens in Amavara products?
We do not use preservatives such as parabens, chlorphenesin, phenoxyethanol or other formaldehyde donors. These ingredients often already have PR and regulatory issues or are known to induce skin irritation. Amavara uses a modern preservative system: the synergy of two multi-functional ingredients, which are preservative boosters, anti-oxidant and anti-irritants; this combination of functional ingredients is able to ensure a very mild and efficacious product preservation for the entire self life of the product.

Is there any way to re-order products or setup a subscription?
At this time our subscription service is not set up. We will be releasing this soon so you can set that up at the time of purchase and not have to worry about it again! Please click here if you are interested in a subscription and we will reach out to you when it is available.
Can I use more than one discount code at checkout?
At this time only one discount code is accepted at checkout.
Shipping and Returns
Where does Amavara® ship to?
Amavara only ships within the United States at this time.
What shipping methods are available?
For orders within the United States, we ship for free via Standard USPS Flat Rate Box or FedEx SmartPost (7-9 business days). There are expedited shipping methods available at checkout for an extra cost.
How soon after I place my order with it ship?
Standard orders must be placed by 5 PM ET to start processing on the same day. Processing time usually takes 1 business day and orders will arrive within 7-9 business days from when the order is processed. You will receive an email notification to update you of a status change or shipment.
You may edit your personal information by accessing My Account. Addresses cannot be edited once the order has been placed and processed. Please reach out to us immediately at [email protected] with your order number if you have any issues.
When will my credit card be charged?
Your credit card or PayPal account will be charged when the order is processed.
Can I return my products?
