How you know if a sunscreen is 100% reef safe

Check your labels. Look at the “active ingredients.” As consumers, you have to arm yourselves with the knowledge to set a standard for reef safe. Here is AMAVARA’s standard: Reef safe can ONLY be achieved if non-nano zinc oxide is the ONLY active ingredient. An unfortunate marketing ploy is to showcase zinc oxide on the front product, but when flipped over, you’ll see zinc oxide combined with chemical or other marine toxic ingredients on the back. If you see a list of ingredients full of chemicals you can’t pronounce, it’s most likely bad for you and the environment. The simpler the formula, the better, and it doesn’t get more simple than just one active ingredient.

Great finish

Takes awhile to blend but when it does it's a great finish, dewey and a little thicker which I like bc it's not like a liquid greasy. It gives a little coverage so I feel fine not wearing foundation!

Wonderful vegan sunscreen

I use prescription retinoids and there aren’t many products that my skin can tolerate, but this sunscreen does not irritate my skin or clog my pores and it’s easy to apply for a physical sunscreen. I am also a vegan so this product checks all the boxes ! :)

Great sunscreen

I feel great using this sunscreen and it does it's job effectively. The tinted sunscreen is amazing and allows me to apply powder right over top and I can complete my makeup routine as normal but without foundation, and it keeps oil at bay. The sunscreen stick applies smoothly and rubs in without leaving much white cast and is not sticky. I definitely think I will repurchase. The spring break sale was incredible and allowed me to try this brand and I'm thankful! Also it shipped so fast I was incredibly surprised.Thanks Amavara!!
